Alexandra Eldridge

Santa Fe, New Mexico

Alexandra Eldridge is a painter and artist based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Her paintings reflect a deep search for the inherent radiance in all things and explore the paradoxes and contradictions of the human experience. Her work is an acknowledgment of the inner life, which she believes can reveal its own share of soul and connect with others.

Born to artist parents, Alexandra received her BA in Art and Literature at Ohio University before continuing her education at Cambridge University, the Santa Reparata Graphic Workshop in Florence, Italy, Penland College, and The Photographer’s Formulary in Montana. She co-founded Golgonooza, an establishment for the arts based on the philosophies of William Blake.

Alexandra has had over forty solo shows and participated in many group shows throughout the U.S. and internationally, including Paris, London, Belgrade, Ljubljana, and California. Her work has been used for the cover of twenty-four books of poetry and commissioned for murals in the Place de Vosges, Paris.

Her paintings can be found in the collections of William Hurt, Steve Buscemi, Edie Falco, and other prestigious collections. Alexandra's work has been featured in publications such as Art News, Art LTD, Art On Paper, New American Painting, and One Hundred Painters of the Southwest. Alexandra's inspiration comes from traveling, and she has had the opportunity to participate in artist residencies on the Island of Elba, Italy, and the Valparaiso Foundation in Almeria, Spain.
