“While revering the animals as they were, I hope to breathe life into these forgotten objects and create novel collages which radiate their beauty,” says Lauren Furman, local Santa Fe artist.

Often Furman’s work is meditative and without planning; simply a flowering of the mind. “It has always been a passion of mine. I remember as a child, painting characters and landscapes on my bedroom walls (and later being reprimanded),” Lauren recalls.

Furman is always looking for new projects and interesting canvas for expression. As she was drawn to bone as a canvas about four years ago, she began experimenting with different techniques of mosaic. Often Furman uses color tones which mirror the landscapes of water, grass, soil and sky in which these animals once grazed.
